College Freethought .org started with two college students that want to bring down the cost of books for college students because the simple math of purchasing expensive books from bookstores and disposing them after the course is complete does not make sense. We know students pay extremely high tuition to colleges and universities around the world. Adding to the burden are university bookstores that charge huge markups on university textbooks making them extremely expensive for students (sometimes higher education textbooks cost higher than college tuition itself!).

If a student purchases an approximately $100 text-book which becomes useless after the college or university course is successfully complete, why must that student spend $100 if that text book could have been bought used for $10 from another student that no longer needs it? This new and used college textbook portal enables college students to purchase new and used books at far lower prices than at college bookstores. To make the process safe and secure, Amazon powers the secure checkout of this website and collects funds from buyers while keeping their billing information confidential and pays university students for their used textbooks sold (or to sellers selling new books at drastically low prices).

Above is an example of free thought that students can participate in, to take the responsibility of collective brainstorming and finding solutions to change the world and to make it easier to live, for everyone. In the very near future, installation of an online communication tool is in the works for this website which will be dedicated to free-thought, scientific inquiry, and skepticism among participants. University students will then be able to interact and engage to resolve internal and external conflicts peacefully, for mutual benefit and understanding.
